Alright, I've made an executive decision. Due to the fact that non-minday users are not allowed to comment on my blog, I've decided to return to blogger. Other than that one issue, mindsay was lovely, very creative and I felt I could truly make it my own. But.....tis a new year, and so I suppose a new blog as well. Farewell my beloved mindsay, I hope to belong to you again someday.

- Actions speak louder than words. Though shouting can also be effective.
- If you shoot a man's wife in the knee and he still doesn't give you the information, he's bad.
- Revenge is the cruelest trick. I've seen it taken out on others, I've been victim to it, I've even done it myself. But it doesn't change anything, and it doesn't bring comfort.
- Trust is the key to survival. And by trust, I mean getting out of the way and letting me do what I need to do.
- The only thing harder than racing to stop a madman from releasing a deadly virus that will kill thousands of people is doing it while simultaneously trying to kick heroin.
- I've been beaten, kidnapped, gassed, and shot at, but the most terrifying thing I've ever been through was facing my daughter after I made her believe I was dead.
- I eat a lot of bananas. They're a good source of vitamin B and potassium. They're also easy to take on the move.
- Love is a privilege.
- If you have to trust someone, make it a quirky computer genius.
- If I say "dammit," either something bad just happened, something bad is about to happen, or I'm going to do something drastic.
- Any man can make a mistake. It's what he does to remedy that mistake that shows his character.
- You better know who you are before you go undercover. If you don't, you could easily lose yourself.
- Always carry at least one spare fully charged cell-phone battery.
- So many times when I thought there was no more time, there was.
- When interrogating a suspect, I've often found it effective to ask the question loudly and repeat it several times.
- Remember, terrorists use the phone as much as we do.
- In the event of a highway landing, always fasten your seat belt and return your chair and tray table to their upright and locked positions.
- It's all key cards and thumb drives these days.
- If the president of the United States ever orders you to shoot your boss in the head at point-blank range in cold blood, take a deep breath, ask God to forgive you, and just do it.
- Without conscience, a man becomes his worst enemy.
- Sometimes it's necessary to create a believable diversion, even at the risk of others thinking you're an ***hole.
- A cell phone can sometimes be used to activate a secondary detonator on a terrorist's explosive vest regardless of how many minutes are left on your plan.
- Dead terrorists can often be effectively used as human shields. So can live ones.
- Bureaucrats want results but never want to get their hands dirty.
- The safety of the people I love is worth any sacrifice. Even their trust.

- If you don't have a Taser gun, the wires from a lamp will deliver the current needed to shock your subject just enough to get him to give up the information you need without doing any permanent damage.
- Sometimes you have to do the wrong thing for the right reasons.
- You can't save everyone.
- If you see me running down the street, it's probably a good idea to take cover.

All life is worship of God in a way,
and all we're doing is trying to
pass it on to more people.
My idea of God is that you're not
doing it for yourself particularly,
but for everyone else.

This sticker is dangerous and inconvenient but I do love fig newtons.
I didn't think it was possible for me to like Will Ferrell more than I already did, but I was wrong. Me and Kels went to see his new movie "Stranger than Fiction" last night, and I think it might be the best movie I've seen all year. It had drama, suspense, comedy, romance, everything: but they were able to pull it off. Normally when people try to do it all, they wind up with nothing of anything. Part of the cool thing about the movie, was that the character, Harold Crick, himself was trying to figure out if his life was more of a tragedy or comedy. So tonight I went to their website, and there is a game that is really silly but fun; I highly recommend it. (I made a couple of entries myself, could see it being addictive so thought I'd better blog about it instead of actually participating)

Here is a recipe I kinda made up of something I've heard of for a long time, but never actually tried it myself (not sure why) until now : coffee encrusted steak. I love coffee, and....who doesn't like steak right? So I found a Bobby Flay recipe for it and adjusted it to my own likings, and gave it a go. Was really good, kinda tasted smoky flavored. He said to just coat one side of the steak with oil, salt and pepper. Then the other side with the rub, sear it in a really hot pan (on the side with the rub to caramelize), and then turn and finish cooking it in the oven until the desired doneness is reached. Was pretty good, nice for something different. You can get his version off the foodnetwork site, or here was my concoction if you prefer.
Rub: 1/4 cup strong coffee beans ground fine
1/4 brown sugar (to help caramelize)
Roughly a teaspoon of each of the following, but you can
put whatever amounts you like:
cinnamon
chinese five spice (naturally)
mexican oregano
coriander
cumin
chili powder
dry mustard
crushed red pepper (just a pinch)
dried thyme
kosher salt
cracked pepper
So I figured the most fun way of combining these would be with a mortar and pestle, I love pounding stuff in there. Anyway, combine, and then just rub all over one side. Yummy.
I just loved this pic so much I had
to use it in my background.
But....the only bad thing is
you can't see the full pic,
which includes the best part, his converse!
Definitely my nephew am I right? booyah
